OC 3rd XI v Forest 2nd XI (h)

Result: 1-1

All things said and done, that was a hard fought point on Saturday. Looking back, they had far more clear-cut chances than us and if it wasn't for some immense goalkeeping and a heart-in-the mouth goal-line clearance from Wilko, we could easily have come away with nothing. That said, I thought we started the game really well and for the first half an hour looked composed and in control. But they're are a canny side. Physical, well organised, very hard to break down and very good at breaking up our play. And that's exactly what happened. We didn't quite have the fire power to break them down and we didn't really create many chances. That should change with a number of our forwards back form injury this week, so there's no need to panic. I was also really impressed with how we reacted to going a goal behind with only half an hour remaining. JT, making amends for his penalty concision, nabbed a great looping header with 10 minutes to go to get us back in the game. And we could have sneaked it late on, although to be honest so could they and a draw I think was the right result. This week's Man of the Match goes to John Jenkins for a number of top-class saves that kept us in the match and more importantly has kept us at the top of the table, a point clear of the 2's and Bradfield with a game still in hand.
