Result: 1-2
I think we can consider ourselves a little unlucky not to have come away with more from Saturday's LOB match against Grantonians. They were a good side who took their chances clinically but we were very unlucky not to equalize in the last 10 minutes and I'm pretty confident we would have been in the ascendency come extra time. We weren't at our absolute best on Saturday but that was partly down to the quality of our opponents. Many games so far this season have gone our way and we've probably had the roll of the dice all things considered. But on Saturday, it didn't quite drop for us. What I will say though is that two lapses of concentration essentially cost us the game. Against lesser opposition, the odd lapse isn't always punished but Saturday proved just how dangerous it can be to fall asleep. We have to believe this season that scoring 1 goal should be enough to win us a game. From now on, every minute of every 90 is vital. No lapses in concentration. No slow starts. No complacency. What we must do now is respond positively and that starts this Saturday back on Northbrook, when we face in the last 16 of the AFA Cup. We've had a fantastic run and a brilliant start to the campaign with our 10 game unbeaten streak. What we have to do now is build another one of those runs. We've got one cup game and one league fixture before Christmas and it's crucial we get straight back to winning ways this weekend and finish the year on a high. Saturday was a wake-up call. We're not invincible. It's a long season and we're going to have to work seriously hard if we want to come away with silverware come the end of the season.
